Durif

Overview

Salvatore Trimboli has loved ducks since he was five years old and led his pet duck around on a leash like a puppy. His love affair with the Durif grape also goes way back (his car licence plate even reads 'DURIF'), and he’s had spectacular international success with this Black Duck Durif. Sit back with a glass and, like the duck, just go with life’s flow.

Colour

A very enticing deep purple-red.

Aroma

Bursting with rich and ripe berry fruits, and a hint of deftly balanced oak.

Taste

Ripe black plum, concentrated sweet blackberry and ripe cherry. French and American oak aging has resulted in soft but firm tannins. This full-bodied wine offers a delightful punch of fruits on the palate with a rich, vibrant mouthfeel.

Enjoy with

A generously-flavoured wine to complement an Argentinian BBQ, a juicy Australian Steak Diane or T-bone steak with pepper sauce. For vegans and vegetarians, drink with a roasted vegetable cassoulet or rich vegetable pasta.
